In the aftermath of the war in Iraq and as the U.S. military withdraws from Afghanistan, the Pentagon is shifting its fleet of drones to other global hot spots. Among them is Turkey, where the Air Force operates four unarmed Predator drones from Incirlik Air Base. U.S. shifts drones to new frontiers

Persian Gulf hubs
The Air Force operates drone hubs in Qatar and theUnited Arab Emirates to conduct reconnaissance flights over the Persian Gulf.

Incirlik Air Base
The Air Force has been flying unarmed drones from Turkey in an attempt to suppress a long-simmering regional conflict involving Kurdish guerrillas.

Niamey, Niger
The Air Force began flying unarmed drones from here in February to help French and African forces fight Islamist rebels in neighboring Mali.

Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti
The U.S. military targets al-Shabab in Somalia and al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula from this key base.

Victoria, Seychelles
The U.S. military has flown unarmed Reaper drones over East Africa from this island base.

The United States flies Reaper drones from here over Somalia.
